How the CoolSculpting Cryolipolysis procedure is performed

Cryolipolysis is a modern alternative to surgical liposuction which allows precise and controlled destruction of subcutaneous fat through the use of low temperatures that cause the gradual physiological death of fat cells - apoptosis (Selective Cryolysis or Lipo-Cryolysis).

During the procedure, a special applicator is placed on the patient's correction area, held immobile by a vacuum. The doctor then starts the device and the controlled cooling begins, which affects the fat layer. Under the influence of low temperature, it crystallizes, so the fat cells lose their vitality over time and are eliminated from the body naturally without trace. The procedure takes 30-60 minutes, depending on the correction area, during which the patient can rest, watch the news or occupy themselves with their smartphone.

The fat cells frozen during the CoolSculpting Cryolipolysis procedure gradually break down and leave the body through a natural excretion process.

In FACE Lab clinic the Cryolipolysis procedure is performed on the CoolSculpting device in the following sequence. First the doctor marks the areas on the patient's body to be treated with a special measuring instrument.

Subsequently, the cosmetic surgeon will apply a special disposable cloth to the specified area, which will protect the skin from the effects of low temperatures and allow the cold to be evenly distributed.

Then it is the turn of the CoolSculpting device itself. First, the doctor selects the nozzle (manipula) of the desired size, sets the desired temperature and suction power, and then places the nozzle on the tissue. The device begins to suck in the skin with a layer of fat and gradually begins to deliver the cold.

It may look a little scary, but there's really nothing scary about it. At first the patient may feel a tingling sensation from the tension of the skin with the vacuum, but once the cold is applied the skin goes numb and all the painful sensations disappear. The procedure takes 30 minutes to 1.5 hours per area. The procedure itself is painless, so the patient is at rest most of the time. After the procedure, the doctor removes the nozzle and gives a small massage to the frozen tissue. There may be a slight tingling sensation, comparable to frozen fingers, after coming from the street into a warm room. All discomfort lasts only a few minutes.

The first results after the cryolipolysis procedure can be observed after 3-4 weeks. This is due to the fact that after the procedure, the body needs to remove all the products of fat cell decay. And this takes some time. But the result is guaranteed! After a few weeks the volume of fat tissue will decrease by 20%, and after six months the volume of fat tissue can decrease by 25-30%.
